Talk to your list
Say "Hey Meta, add eggs" with a list open in your glasses and it is on the list. Checking off and reading back work the same way, through WebMCP.

Your glasses can now take a list by voice. Open a list in DisplayList, say what you need, and it is on the list before you have finished the sentence.
What you can say
With a list open in your glasses:
- "Hey Meta, add eggs and butter." Two new rows appear at the bottom of the list.
- "Hey Meta, check off milk." Milk drops to the done pile. Your phone sees it a few seconds later.
- "Hey Meta, what's left?" Meta AI reads the open items out loud.
- "Hey Meta, start over." Every item is unchecked, the same as the Reset list button.
On the lists screen, "Hey Meta, open my grocery list" opens it, and "What lists do I have?" reads the names.
How it works
This uses WebMCP, a new Meta feature that lets a web app in the glasses offer tools to Meta AI. DisplayList offers a handful: add, check, uncheck, read back, open. Meta AI hears you, picks the tool, and DisplayList does the rest. There is no speech recognition in DisplayList itself, and nothing you say is stored by us. The change lands in your list and syncs to displaylist.fun the way a tap does.
Turning it on
WebMCP is a Meta developer preview, so it is off until you switch it on for your glasses. Open the Meta AI app, go to Developer Mode, the same place you added DisplayList, and turn on WebMCP. Then open a list in your glasses and talk to it.
Languages
Tool names are English, for Meta AI. What DisplayList reads back comes in your language, so a German account hears "3 übrig: Milch, Eier, Brot".
What's next
Quantities, so "add two cartons of milk" lands as one row with a count. And a way to add to a list from the Meta AI app with nothing open at all.

DisplayList appears in your language, on the web and in your glasses. The list you opened last is the first thing you see, and checked items move to the bottom.

What WebMCP is and how to turn it on
WebMCP is a Meta developer preview for Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. To turn it on, open the Meta AI app, go to Developer Mode, and switch on WebMCP for your glasses. With DisplayList, that means you can speak to an open list and Meta AI can add items, check them off, or read back what is left.

Your glasses now stay paired for months, pairing confirms when it worked, lists get a Reset button and undo, new lists start from common choices, and DisplayList speaks Italian.
